Serena Fleming-DeFelice was a four-year player in field hockey and softball and she was an all-star in both sports.

She set a school record with 38 career goals while leading Steinert to conference championships in 2001 and 2002. She was also instrumental in the first state sectional title in field hockey for the Spartans in 2000. A participant in the Junior Olympics field hockey program, it was softball that she would play in college.

After helping Steinert to capture consecutive Mercer County Tournament and division titles from 2001 to 2003, Serena went on to Salisbury University where she played two seasons of softball and helped the Sea Gulls to two World Series appearances.

She is a married mother of two who teaches Physical Education at Brookside Elementary School in Monroe.
