Jones was a three-time All-Colonial Valley Conference selection and scored a school-record 1,675 points.
Dahntay was named prep high school Academic All-American, and also lettered two years in track and field.
During a college career divided between Rutgers and Duke, Jones averaged double figures all four
years and was the Scarlet Knights Most Valuable Player. As a senior, he led Duke to a 21-6 record and
earned first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors and All-ACC Defensive Team honors. In 2003,
Jones became the first Spartan to play in the NBA when he was drafted by the Boston Celtics, then
traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Dahntay is in his third year with Memphis and his contract runs
through the 2006-07 season.
