As a pitcher, Chris is unquestionably the school’s top left-hander of all time. Reyes finished
28-1 with a 0.92 ERA, allowing just 115 hits while striking out 235 in 198 innings. At the plate,
Reyes hit .461 for his career and had single season bests of a .579 batting average and a .886
slugging percentage. During his three varsity seasons, Steinert went 80-10, won a Group IV State
title, two Central Jersey crowns, three Colonial Valley Conference championships and three Mercer
County Tournament titles.
Reyes was the Trenton Times’ Player of the Decade for the 1990’s and was names 1994
District 2 Player of the Year, which encompassed seven stated. He went on to lead Potomac
State College to an NJCAA World Series championship, earning World Series MVP honors.
