Rich spent his entire 30-year career in Hamilton Township and the last 15 at Steinert where he
was the woodshop teacher from 1989-2004. He earned Teacher of the Year honors in 1992 but his
legacy at Steinert goes far beyond the lessons he provided to students. Both the baseball and
softball press boxes were the result of Weeden’s woodshop classes. He did extensive work on
the concession stand and the old wooden bleachers on the football field. Rich built the trophy
case at the high school that now displays the plaques of each Steinert Hall of Fame inductee.
Rich’s contributions did not end with his handiwork. Weeden also helped re-institute
the Football Booster Club in 1997 and was a member until 2001, serving as vice-president. He
took a leading role in the club’s refurbishing of the weight room, and was also a member of the
Wresting Booster Club.
